LIGON - GREENSBORO
It is with great sorrow that we report the passing of our amazing ""Mama"" and ""Nanny"", Treva Pauline ""Pal"" Ligon. Mrs. Ligon, 95, died at her home in Greensboro, NC on Friday, October 10, 2014 from complications due to Alzheimer's. She was born May 27, 1919 in Hanestown, NC to Robah E. and Annie Fletcher Bodenheimer, Sr. In December of 1956, she married William Edward ""Bill"" Ligon who passed away in 1974. Treva attended schools in Forsyth County and was retired from Dize Awning and Tent Company. Treva will be especially remembered for her quick wit and her spirit of adventure.
She was a loving mother and grandmother to four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. They were all her heart. Also surviving is one daughter, Becky Ligon Gabriel (Tom); and one son, Mike ""Mickey"" Ligon (Sandra). In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Ligon was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret Ligon Brock (Norwood) 2009; six sisters; and seven brothers.
A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 14 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Rev. Mike Gaither and Rev. Jimmy Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 13 at the funeral home.
