Treva Loretta Rothrock Kimball was born March 2, 1914 to Francis M. Rothrock and Victoria Welch Rothrock. She died April 23, 2009 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She attended Broadbay School, Union Cross Elementary School and Sedge Garden High School. In February, 1934 she married Thomas A Kimball who predeceased her. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Kimball Meder, a granddaughter Jannette Kay Meder, two sons-in-law, Donald B. Stafford and Don A. Dillon. Her sisters Flora Belle Huff, Mamie Reid, Lillian Reid, and Frances Simmons and her brothers Robah Rothrock, Mitchell Rothrock, Curtis Rothrock, Stokes Rothrock, Burton Rothrock, and Elgin Welch also preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons the Rev. Roger W. Kimball (Mitzie) and Donald R. Kimball (Geneva) and daughters Ann Stafford Dillon and Linda K. Jarvis (Larry) of Winston-Salem and son-in-law John Meder of Plumas Lake, California. Also surviving are grandchildren: Vickie Minard (Dan), Donna Greenwell (Jim), Tom Kimball (Julie), David Kimball (Paula), Shannon Stafford, Scott Jarvis, Ted Kimball, Jay Meder (Shawndel), Mike Kimball (Carolyn), Dana Rushing (Mark), Neva Little (Heath), Jenny Glazier (Ron), Allison Jarvis and two step-grandchildren Brian Dillon (Lisa) and Sheree Isenhour(Mark). She adored her great grandchildren who survive: Christy Minard Merrick, Cheryl Minard, Kurt Kimball, Laura Grace Kimball, Mariah Kimball, Thomas M. Kimball, Savannah Kimball, Zackary Greenwell, Luke Greenwell, Alex Kimball, Peyton Kimball, Jack Little, Evan Little, Kimball Little, Kaleb Meder, Abigal Meder, Madison Meder, Nathan Glazier, Evan Glazier, Kaitlin Jarvis, Jessica Jarvis, Bethany Jarvis, Hannah Tucker, Zach Rushing, Madison Blink, and Daniel Blink. Her Godchildren who survive are Angie Hine Salzwedel, Kenneth Hine and Randy Simmons. She was a lifelong member of Friedland Moravian Church and was active until her time of death having attended the worship service on Easter Sunday. She served her church faithfully for 30 years as the Sunday School Teacher of the 2/3 years olds, was President of the Women's Fellowship, was a faithful worker in the Circle and helped with Suppers and Building Fund Raisers along with her husband. She volunteered both at Salemtowne(when it was the Moravian Home) and the Old St. Phillips Nursery in the 1960's. She never forgot the birthday of her children, grandchildren or any great-grandchild and insisted on celebrating her birthday and all of theirs. She believed that all people were good and whenever fault was found in anyone she always said, ""Well, they're good to me."" Services for Treva Kimball will be held at Friedland Moravian Church at 3:00pm on Sunday, April 26, 2009 with the Rev. Dr. Wally Yarborough, Rev. Carol Foltz, and Rev. Ben Shepherd officiating. Family visitation will be held in the Church Fellowship Hall following the Service in the Sanctuary and at the Graveyard. In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to Friedland Moravian Church, 2750 Friedland Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27107 or to Sunnyside Ministries of the Moravian Church, 814 Haled Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27127. The family members wish to express their thanks to caregivers Pat Caulder and Lynn Earle and the entire Hospice Staff of Forsyth County and especially to Dr. Stephen Hux for his longtime care of Mrs. Kimball.
