Travis Ray Ashby

Mr. Travis Ray Ashby, 65 years old, born July 17, 1943, died March 16, 2009. He was retired from RJR Tobacco Co. after 36 years of service. Mr. Ashby was an avid sportsman who loved the outdoors and beach vacations with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Odell Oliver Ashby. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Becky (Sugarbabe) Gordy Ashby; 4 daughters, Deborah Hoots (Teddy), Dana Oakley, (Tim), Pamela Gendy (Maher), and Lisa (Punkerpoo) DeMarko (Eric); 7 grandchildren, Crystal Danielle, Candace Lynn, Timothy Seth, Kayla Lynn, Kelly Marie, David Joseph, and Chrstine Danielle; 2 great-grandchildren, Jayden and Braelyn; his mother, Armin Doyle Hammock Ashby; 1 brother, Bynum Ashby; 3 sisters, Geraldine Hicks, Judy Clinard, and Shelia Hartness; Several beloved nieces and nephews; and his faithful friend, Molly. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March, 19, 2009, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with Rev. Anthony Gordy officiating. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.
