Tony Lester Danner

Mr. Tony Lester Danner, 77, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. He was born on July 24, 1945, in Cabarrus Co., the son of the late Lester and Leona Baity Danner. Tony graduated from Gray High School in Winston-Salem and Forsyth Technical Community College. He was a diesel mechanic for 43 years and retired from Roadway Express with 35 years of service.  Also, Tony proudly served 7 years in the United States Army Reserves as a member of the 108^th Transportation Unit. Tony was a longtime member of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Walkertown and was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Sue for 57 years. He loved NASCAR, football and especially Wake Forest sports. His hobby was working in the yard and planting flowers for his wife, Sue.  Tony is survived by his loving wife, Andrea Sue Danner of the home; two sons, Todd Danner and Duane Danner (Jennifer) both of Lewisville and a granddaughter, Nora Elizabeth Danner. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 Friday, May 5, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Pastor Matt Morrison and Pastor Frank Shumate officiating. Entombment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
