Mr. Tony Wayne Chambers, 72, of Walkertown died Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. He was born October 6, 1940 in Stokes County, the son of the late, Arvil Clay and Myrtle Johnson Chambers. Mr. Chambers attended Grace Baptist Temple. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving aboard the USS Mansfield during the Vietnam War. He was a recipient of the Vietnam Service and National Defense Service Medals. He was retired from Pepsi Cola Bottling Company. He was active in The A Model Club and loved driving his car. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Faye Chambers and Linda Butner; and a brother, Richard Chambers. Survivors include two daughters, Tonya Suttles and husband, Stephen of Winston-Salem and Robin Stanley and husband, Ricky of Pfafftown; three grandchildren, Katie Suttles, Susan Stanley and Adam Stanley; one great grandson, Jacob Moore; three brothers, Clay Chambers and wife, Maria of Fort Mead, MD, John Chambers and wife, Barbara of King and Billy Chambers of Winston-Salem; a number of nieces and nephews and his extended family of his former wife's family. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 PM at Grace Baptist Temple with Pastor Ed Sears officiating. Burial will follow in East Bend Evangelical Methodist Church Cemetery.
