Toni Ann graduated from Findlay High School in Findlay, Ohio in 1969. When her children were both in school full-time, she went to work for Clark Equipment in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She relocated to Oviedo, Florida in 1988 to work in the finance department for the Pulau Corporation. In 1998, her first grandson, Jack was born so she relocated to Kalamazoo to be a hands-on grandmother. Her second grandson, Luke arrived in 2002 and she was a major part of both of their lives. She spent as much time as possible with them, teaching them how to cook the family recipes, play board games, attend their hockey games, and took them on countless adventures. She was affectionately known as “Mamaw.” Toni Ann moved back to Florida in 2008 to work as a financial price analyst for CSC and General Dynamics, who partnered with the United States government and military. This was a role she took great pride in. While living in Florida, she always made multiple trips each year to see her grandsons in Michigan and North Carolina. Toni Ann retired in 2019 and relocated to Winston-Salem, NC to be a part of her third grandson, Hayden’s life, who was born in 2009 and was also able to spend more time with her son’s family and her youngest sister, Sharon. Toni Ann enjoyed taking Hayden to his weekly guitar lessons and their many dinners afterwards. She was a tremendous help to Hayden during the Covid lockdown and spent countless hours helping him with his studies and homework. Upon retirement, she enjoyed traveling to visit her sisters and their families, visiting her friends in Florida, and multiple trips back to Michigan each year. She was the matriarch of her family and will be missed dearly. A service to celebrate Toni Ann’s life will be held at her daughter’s home in Michigan at 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2023.
“The Broken Chain”
We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name, in life we loved you dearly; in death we do the same; It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; but as God call us one by one, the chain will link again.
