Tommy Adkins Thompson

KERNERSVILLE-Tommy Adkins Thompson, 73, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. He was born January 11, 1936 in Stanley County, North Carolina, to the late William L. and Valeria Bell Thompson. Tommy worked as a mechanic for Pilot Freight, in Charlotte and Kernersville, for 31 years and has custom built storage barns for the past 15 years. He was also active in the Kernersville Little League for several years. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Gayle T. Thompson, of the home; two sons, Chris A. Thompson, and wife, Angie, of Kernersville and Jeff C. Thompson, and wife, Tiffany, of High Point; three granddaughters, Raylin, Kaia and Chloe. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday, January 19, 2009 at Hayworth Miller Funeral Home Kernersville Chapel. Commital Service will follow at 2:00 pm at Stony Hill Methodist Church in Albemarle, NC.
