BELEWS CREEK-Tom Casper Eaton, 84, passed away Friday, May 22, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born February 4, 1925 in Forsyth Co. to the late Nobel Casper and Carrie Landreth Eaton. Mr. Eaton was a United States Army veteran with Company 1, 26th Infantry, having served in WWII in the European Campaign and the Battle of the Bulge. He retired from RJR Tobacco Company, a member of the NHPA, and was a champion horseshoe pitcher. He loved music and was an avid musician for most of his life. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Gary Eaton; two brothers, George and David Eaton; one sister, Margie Eaton. Surviving are his wife, Hazel M. Eaton of the home; four sons, Stan, Scott, Tony, Donald Eaton all of Belews Creek; four sisters, Vera Eaton, Pauline Watson, Nealie Watson, and Jewel Eaton; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00pm Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Goodwill Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Mullis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel.
