Toleda Wilhelm

Mrs. Toleda "Tee" Dowell Wilhelm, 80, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at her home under the care of hospice. She was born in Yadkin County on October 5, 1937 to the late Lloyd James and Ohna Roberts Dowell. Mrs. Wilhelm was a hairdresser for 40 years and was a lifelong member of Pfafftown Baptist Church. She would always put others first. Mrs. Wilhelm was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and would do anything to protect them. Her main purpose in life was to look after and raise her grandchildren. She taught the whole family to love, care, and protect each other. Mrs. Wilhelm especially enjoyed taking vacations to Gatlinburg, TN, the beach and going on multiple cruises. Every year she would plan a vacation to the beach with her entire family. She enjoyed walking on the beach having loving conversations and collecting sea shells. Mrs. Wilhelm enjoyed yoga and made many friends over the years. Preceding her in death was her husband, Roy Everett Wilhelm of 47.5 years; a sister, Hilda Binkley and two special friends, Becky Collins and Bobby Davis. Surviving is a son, Gregory Wilhelm and wife, Julia; daughter, Ginger Marshall and husband, Brian; six grandchildren, Mitch Wilhelm and wife, Mya, Daniel Wilhelm, Nicholas Marshall, Samuel Marshall, Corey Wilhelm, and Heather Putzel; great-granddaughter, MaeKayla Wilhelm; sister, Frances Kiger Kirkman; brother, Jack Dowell, sister, Virginia Sizemore; also surviving are several loving nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Pfafftown Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Bounds officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to Pfafftown Baptist Church, 4336 Transou Rd. Pfafftown, NC 27040. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Goodman, Dr. Klepin, Dr. Triozzi, Dr. Simmons, Dr. Ghandi, Dr. P., all the nurses, residents, and staff on 7th floor Cancer Center and Cardiac Staff for all their care and compassion during her illness. Also special thanks to the Radiology Department at WFBMC for all the prayers and support during this time.
