Tina Aslanis Simos

Mrs. Tina Aslanis Simos, 84, of Pfafftown passed away Friday, September 23, 2016.

Tina was born February 27, 1932 in Athens, Greece. She was the co-owner and matriarch of long-time Winston-Salem restaurant Simos Barbecue and a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. Most importantly, she was the best Mother, YiaYia, and Great YiaYia to her family. In addition to her parents, Tina was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Simos, son, Perry Simos, and brother, Pete Aslanis.

Tina is survived by her son, Terry Simos and wife Marie of Pfafftown; 4 grandchildren, Paul Simos and wife Susan, Chris Simos and wife Meredith, Matt Simos and wife Katie, and Christina Simos; 6 great-grandchildren, Nickolas, Victoria, Lucas, Gunner, Evelyn, and Emery; and sister-in-law, Sophia Aslanis.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with Fr. Demetri Kangelaris officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:45 - 11:45 am at the church. Interment will follow the service at Forsyth Memorial Park.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Oak Forest Health and Rehabilitation and the Palliative Care Unit at Forsyth Medical Center for the care that they provided to Tina over the course of her illness.
