Timothy Smith

Timothy Perry Smith died on January 25, 2018 from leukemia. He is survived by his
wife, Rhonda with whom he shared over 31 years of marriage. This marriage produced their greatest blessings and source of joy; Beth Shaw (Bruce), Luke (Emilee), Caleb and Jacob all of Winston-Salem. Tim is also survived by his much older brother Gary (Merlyn) of Greenville SC; sister Vicki Morgan (Glen) of Port St Joe, FL; and brother Keith (Tammy) of Crawfordville, FL. Tim and Rhonda were also blessed with two wonderful grandchildren, Pierson and Sophia.

Tim was employed by BB&T as a property tax supervisor and worked previously for Hanesbrands and Wachovia after relocating to Winston-Salem from Jacksonville, FL where he was employed by Barnett Bank. He attended Harvest Bible Chapel in Winston-Salem and had previously attended Pinedale Christian Church serving as an elder.

He loved music, sports, The Outlaw Josey Wales, and The Jacksonville Jaguars, but his greatest joy in life came from spending time with family. He was a proud dad and PePaw. He loved to watch his children use their talents to serve the Lord and others. He and Rhonda shared a love for each other that grew stronger through his medical issues and numerous stays in the hospital. Her love never failed.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at 4:00 pm, at Pinedale Christian Church with Pastor Johnny Pereira, Pastor Bill McKenzie and Dr. Ronnie McKenzie officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm, on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Pinedale Christian Church. Tim and Rhonda are so thankful to Keith for his donation of stem cells for the transplant and to Gary and Vicki for being willing donors. They also wish to express their gratitude to the care teams at WFUBMC, especially Dr. Howard and her staff, Dr. Powell and his staff and the nurses on the 3rd, 6th and 7th floor.
