Timothy D. McCulloch, age 76, of Bermuda Run, NC, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
Beloved husband of Jeanne (nee O’Rourke) McCulloch, loving father of Michael T. McCulloch (Katherine Otterbourg) and Patrick O. McCulloch. Dear brother of the late Kevin P. McCulloch (Victoria), fond uncle to Anna, Thomas and Theresa and great uncle to Mae and Molly.
Tim was born August 28, 1948, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Gregory P. and Jeanne Zankle McCulloch. He was born and bred a Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Braves fan. He was a proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin making him a Badger for life. While in Madison Tim met and married Jeanne. They were together for 55 years sharing friendship, love, and loyalty.
He began his 30-year career in publishing with a chain of newspapers which took he and his family to Montana, Connecticut and lastly North Carolina.
In North Carolina he found a place to set down roots, add to his family and grow his faith. Tim was a committed member of both Our Lady of the Rosary parish in Lexington and of Our Lady of Mercy parish in Winston-Salem. He was a founding member of the OLM parish Knights of Columbus Council and later became a Knight of the Order of Malta.
Tim was a keen spectator of football, basketball and especially baseball. Most notably, he was an ardent supporter of the Winston-Salem Wolfhounds and longtime season ticket holder of the Winston-Salem Dash.
In retirement, Tim enjoyed warm winters in Florida, cool summers in the mountains of North Carolina, trips to Ireland and Scotland, and bowling with the neighborhood guys.
He made everyone feel like he really cared about them…because he did. He so often showed us a tremendous ability to persevere under difficult circumstances. We will always carry his memory in our hearts. There will never be the likes of him again.
