Timothy Morris Hayes passed away on July 22, 2024. He was born to Claude and Corene Hayes at Baptist Hospital on May 17, 1962. Tim spent his life in Winston-Salem where he attended Salem Baptist Day School and North Forsyth High School. After graduation he studied welding at Forsyth Technical College. He worked as a welder for two years before beginning his career as an Orthopedic Foot Technician for Trenwest Inc. and Mothershed Foot and Ankle. Tim worked for Mothershed Foot and Ankle for 40 years, making shoes by hand for diabetics and patients throughout the triad who could no longer wear commercial shoes. Tim was an expert afficionado of Cuban cigars and multi-cultural foods. He was a lifelong member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church where he spent many years singing tenor in the choir. Tim was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and co-worker. He was an excellent mimic and was particularly known for his participation in family pranks. Tim brought a kind and gentle, yet markedly mischievous spirit to every family gathering; his participation in family antics earned him the nickname, “Headache Hayes." Tim is survived by his brother and sister-in-law of Charlotte, Steven and Jordan Hayes, his nephew Gabriel, his nieces Ella, Madelyn and Lilly, his aunts and uncle, and several cousins. Tim is preceded in death by his parents Claude and Corene Hayes. He is already sorely missed by his family, friends, co-workers, patients and his cat Snowball. Tim was a total character. He made every event more fun. Life is not the same without him. Tim will be remembered for making a difference in the lives of so many. A memorial service will be held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel on Wednesday, July 31st at 6:00 pm.
