Mr. Timothy Holt Davis, 43, of Clemmons, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born February 24, 1968 in Louisville, KY to Stephen and Linda Elmore Davis. Mr. Davis was a member of Friedberg Moravian Church. He was a lifelong learner, teacher and coach. Tim Davis was a graduate of North Davidson High School and UNC-Charlotte. He worked in several different occupations before discovering his passion, teaching. He worked as retail manager for The Record Exchange and as Human Resources Director for Global Payments. His happiest years were as a language arts teacher and coach at Tyro Middle School. While battling cancer using the words PRAY, WISH and HOPE he created an online support group called PRISHOPE. He was a volunteer with Samaritan Ministries. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Surviving are his wife of 6 years, Gwen Davis of the home; a son, Jacob Krause; a daughter, Ashley Dixon (James); grandchildren, Micah and Patrick Fansler; his parents; a sister, Teri Anderson (Donny); and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 9 at Friedberg Moravian Church with the Rev. G. Thomas Shelton and the Rev. James Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, October 8 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family wants to thank the caring nurses and staff of the 9th floor North Tower at Wake Forest Baptist Heath. Family request that in lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Davidson County, 4A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407 Team Prishope/Tyro Middle School or Samaritan Ministries of Forsyth County, 1243 Patterson Avenue, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
