Thurman "Bud" Jones

Thurman “Bud” Jones, 87, passed away on September 24, 2024, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Bud was born on March 19, 1937, to Alta Crater Jones and James Thomas Jones in Forsyth County, North Carolina. He was a lifelong member of Konnoak Hills Moravian Church. He retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company after 33 1/3 years of service. Bud was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for fishing. He had a servant’s heart, never knew a stranger, and would go the extra mile for anyone in need. Bud was preceded in death by his son, Louie Jones, his sister/brother-in-law, Donna and Dick Chappell. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Helen Jones; daughter, Sherri Jester (Darrell); grandchildren, Brandon, Michael (Jordan), Steven, Jennifer (Chip) and Hannah; a great grandchild, Cassidy; nieces and nephews, Donald (Debbie), Doug (Ria), Diane (Bobby) and Dana, as well as many loving friends. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Konnoak Hills Moravian Church. Rev. John D. Rights will be officiating. Entombment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM, Monday, September 30, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
