Thomas "Tommy" Higgins

Mr. Thomas “Tommy” Higgins, 75, of Clemmons, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. He was born September 28, 1947 in Wilkes County. Tommy was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church where he served his Lord in many capacities, such as a trustee, missions committee and DMA. He also volunteered with Uplands Reach in Yadkinville. He enjoyed working on cars, cooking for events, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Gwyn Higgins and Cora Pruitt Rhoades and his stepfather, Arnold Rhoades. Surviving are his wife, Jan Lombardino Higgins; one son, David Higgins; two stepchildren, Jennifer Holladay (Keith) and Nick Toups (Sheena); seven grandchildren, Daniel, Charity, Nathan, Isaac, Charleigh, Eliza and Jacob; two brothers, Clinton Higgins (Diane) and Roger Higgins and many aunts, uncles, cousins nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Cletis Titus officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church Building Fund, 3305 Peters Creek Pkwy., Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
