WINSTON-SALEM - Mr. Thomas ""Tommy"" Montgomery Springs dropped his oxygen tank and took his first Heavenly breath on Wednesday, June 30, 2010. He was born in Tweed County, Canada on September 14, 1934 to the late Oscar Royal Springs and Greta Hardy Springs. Mr. Springs proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of First Baptist Church of Stanleyville. Tommy was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, Mr. Springs was preceded in death by one step-son, Adam Snyder. Surviving are his wife of 16 years, Linda Buchanan Springs; sister, Donna Springs Snider (David); step-son, Paul D. Snyder; brother-in-law, Wayne Buchanan (Tina); nieces, Caitlin Buchanan, Denise Clements and Delena Howard; and mother-in-law, Cleo Buchanan. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville in the Family Life Center with the Rev. Terry Rausch officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
