Mr. Thomas Edd Johnson, 74, of Winston-Salem passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born June 21, 1934 in Wilkes County to Thomas and Hattie Hayes Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Nora Collins, Hazel Parrish, Peggy Kanupp, Mae Duncan and Ruth Hart; and three brothers, Herman, Avery, and Sam Johnson. Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Ruth Byrd Johnson of the home; one son, Jeffrey G. Johnson and wife Betty of Randleman; two grandchildren whom he adored, Jeffrey Alan Johnson and wife Stephanie of Johnson City, TN, and Tabitha Paige Johnson of Randleman; one great grandson, Shepherd Logan Johnson of Johnson City, TN; two sisters, Kathryn Osborne of Wilkes County and Minnie Anderson of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 29 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Eric Goff and the Rev. Wayne Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
