Thomas Hauser, Jr.

Mr. Thomas Franklin Hauser, Jr., 80, passed away at his home in Raleigh, NC, on April 25, 2022. He was born in Forsyth Co. on February 1, 1942, the son of the late Thomas Franklin Hauser, Sr. and Mary Jane Snow Hauser. Mr. Hauser was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church, where he served as Treasurer for many years. He retired from First Citizens Bank as the area office manager for Surry and Stokes Counties. Mr. Hauser used his banking skills as treasurer to help many local organizations, including Habitat for Humanity and the United Way. He was a Redskins and Wake Forest Fan who loved to work in his vegetable garden, where he provided for his family and many others. Mr. Hauser is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Ruth Hauser of the home; his two daughters, Beth Johnson and husband David of Raleigh and Deborah Flippin and husband Alan of Westfield; two grandchildren, Christy Johnson and fiancé, David Norris and Ryan Johnson; a brother, Gary Hauser and wife Ginger of Winston-Salem; and many other extended family members. Funeral services for Mr. Hauser will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at First United Methodist Church in Pilot Mountain with Rev. Jeremy Pegram and Rev. R. Sidney Lanier officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Private burial will follow in Pilot Mountain City Cemetery.
