Thomas Harvey Green

Mr. Thomas Harvey Green, 91, of Ronda, NC died Monday, April 25, 2016 at Yadkin Nursing Care Center in Yadkinville. He was born August 17, 1924 in Wilkes County to Harvey and Nettie Calloway Green. Mr. Green was a World War II veteran who served in the 1st Company 5th Infantry. He retired from D.J. Redding Construction Co. in Rural Hall with over 30 years of service. Mr. Green had a wonderful reputation in the community for his honesty and integrity. He will be remembered as a fine gentleman. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Lowe and Alene Redding. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Leota Bell Green, of the home; two children, Robin Gallagher (husband, Mike) of Hillsborough and Tim Green (fiancée, Sandra Bauguess) of Jonesville; three grandchildren, Thomas M. Gallagher of Boone; as well as Morgan G. Watkins and Nathan B. Green, and their mother, Janet K. Green, all of Pawley's Island, SC; one great-grandchild, Caoliann M. Watkins; one brother, W. Edward Green of Ronda. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM Friday at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel with Ann Compere officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Assoc., 4615 Dundas Dr., Greensboro, NC 27407.
