Thermutis Vass Hicks

Thermutis Vass Hicks, 83, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Hillsville, VA on May 3, 1933 to the late Troy and Alma Jackson Vass. Mrs. Hicks was a faithful member of Clemmons Moravian Church. She loved her church dearly and was a member of the E.T. Clemmons Sunday School Class and was a member of the Ladies Circle. She was a longtime citizen of Lewisville and was a very devoted wife, mother, and friend. Mrs. Hicks retired as a nurse from Forsyth Memorial Hospital and also from W-S Healthcare. Preceding her in death was her husband, Albert ""A.M."" Hicks, Jr. and a brother and sister. Surviving is a daughter, Audrey Hicks Ellis (Charles); two grandsons, Robert Matthew Ellis (Katie) and Joshua C. Ellis (Katie); four great-grandchildren, Hannah, A.J., Emma, and Christopher; nephew, Ronnie Hicks (Anne-Marie); also surviving are numerous nephews and nieces. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Clemmons Moravian Church with Rev. Q. Ray Burke officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church parlor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clemmons Moravian Church Building Fund, PO Box 730, Clemmons, NC 27012. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
