Theresa Locastro

Theresa Locastro, 89, of St Pete Beach, FL, was a loving wife and mother of 5 and grandmother of 9. She is survived by her daughters, Fran Travison and Denise Curtis, her sons, Peter Locastro and Anthony Locastro and her grandchildren, Laura Travison, Vinny Curtis, Kelly Travison, Alyssa Curtis, Josh Locastro, Nicole Locastro, Hailey Locastro, Jessica Locastro and Julia Mae Locastro. Theresa, a first generation Italian, was born April 16th, 1925 and raised in NYC. She was a gorgeous young woman in the city and met Peter Locastro, her husband, they married and she traveled throughout the US as he was in the service. She was always a strong woman who overcame many valleys on her journey and taught herself everything from cooking to seamstress to gardening. Theresa enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, cooking, gardening, playing canasta, staying up on politics, fishing and watching the grandkids - which meant chauffeuring us to and from school with her doggie Daisy, chicken soup, cartoons, clown faces over our boo-boos and regular household items used in all sorts of creative ways. To us, she was ""Big Grandma"". She had the most beautiful green eyes. One of my fondest memories is walking the beach collecting seashells together. She was always there during hard times to listen and tell us everything would be ok. As the years passed by, Theresa enjoyed evenings of laughter with her daughters Fran and Denise watching their favorite TV shows, Fox News, Mike & Molly, Carolina Panthers football and Wheel of Fortune. She taught us many things, but most of all she taught us to overcome, have faith and trust in God. Her family meant everything to her. She was our biggest fan and wanted nothing but happiness for all of her family. After her fight with heart failure over the years, she passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28th at the hospital with family by her side. Theresa joins her husband Pete, daughter Lori, Little Grandma and her parents in heaven. A graveside funeral will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11:00am at Forsyth Memorial Park - 3771 Yadkinville Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
