Theresa Huddleston

Mrs. Theresa Helen Ridge Huddleston, 88, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2019 at SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkin. She was born June 8, 1930 in Forsyth County to the late Calvin and Maggie Lorene Trantham Ridge.  Theresa graduated from Gray High School in 1948, where she played soccer for three years. She retired from W-S/FCS in 1990 after 20 years of service where she managed cafeterias. Baking was a passion of hers both at work and home. Theresa was a devoted Methodist and was a longtime member of Central Terrace UMC of Winston-Salem and a current member of Bethlehem UMC in Advance. She loved to skate and met her husband at the skating rink.  They went on to teach all their children and grandchildren to roller skate and it is still a favorite family activity. Theresa is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Donnie Gordon.  She is survived by her husband of 61 years, J.C. Huddleston, and their children: Karen Boyles (Tom), Steve Huddleston (Sarah), Cheryl Driver (Tim), and Mike Huddleston (Annette). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Christopher Reavis (Katie), Stephanie Huddleston (Bryan London), Lauren Ware (Lance), Scott Huddleston (Brittany), Ashley Stombaugh (Matthew), Kendall Driver, and Crystal Wilson (Dustin), 6 great-grandchildren and one sister, Clara Norton (“Spud”). A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, June 3, 2019 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel by Dr. Chuck Baker and Rev. Jimmy Lancaster. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice in Yadkinville or to Bethlehem UMC.
