Theodore "Ted" Edgar Sands

Stokesdale - Theodore ""Ted"" Edgar Sands, 63, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at his home. Ted was born February 25, 1953 in Stuart, VA to Warney Sands and Mary Marie Williams.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Kay Sands; his daughter, Brandi Marie Sands; his mother, Marie Gaither; one brother, Bobby Sands; and two sisters, Patti Sands and Shirley Gaither.
Ted stood strong in the face of many challenges. He had a strong faith and served as a dedicated patriarch to his family. He took his role as husband, father, and Paw-Paw very seriously and always made sure his family was taken care of. Ted was known for his sense of humor and delighted himself in having a ""million of them.""
Ted is survived by his daughter, Sherri Sands McSweeney (husband, Mark) of Stokesdale; one granddaughter, Emily Kay Sands-McSweeney; six brothers and three sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. Burial will follow at Westminster Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
