Surrounded by loved ones, Theodore Henry Rehmeyer passed peacefully on Thursday, June 25th, 2015 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Born December 20, 1934 to Mary Elizabeth and Paul Henry Rehmeyer in York PA, he attended Gettysburg College, was a proud member of the Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta, and graduated from the Wharton School, at The University of Pennsylvania in 1956. Theodore ""Ted"" Rehmeyer had a long, successful career as a CPA, in sales and marketing. He was a creative business entrepreneur travelling around the world. During his career, he and his family enjoyed living abroad and experiencing unique international adventures. In 2005, he helped found Ocular Systems, Inc in Winston Salem, NC. He recently retired as the Chief Financial Officer. Ever the family man, Ted took pride in guiding and nurturing his family, teaching frugality and planning while practicing unparalleled generosity. He is survived by his wife Nancy Crandall, along with Martha Rehmeyer and their beloved children: Michael Rehmeyer, Daniel Rehmeyer (Cindy), and Beth Hill. Ted also leaves behind his adored grandchildren Madison and Lauren Hill, Jessica Lancaster (Craig), Issac Morgan (Chelsea), and great grandson Landon Morgan. He is also survived by his dear brother Dr. Richard Rehmeyer, along with additional family members: Kevin Rehmeyer, Judy Schultz, Jennifer Risser (Dennis), Kate and Daniel Risser, Jane Curtin (Phil), Joe and David Curtin. He was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Schultz. Prior to his passing, Ted expressed a desire to thank his physicians and the wonderful staff at the Piedmont Dialysis Center and the Pulmonary and Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for their dedication and compassionate care. Ted was an active member of Augsburg Lutheran Church, where a celebration of his life will be held on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Augsburg Lutheran Church, Sanctuary Renewal Fund, 845 West Fifth Street, Winston Salem, NC 27101 or Carolinas Great Pyrenees Rescue, 300 Gloucestershire Rd, Winston Salem, NC 27104.
