Theodore Gordon Krier

Mr. Theodore (Ted) Gordon Krier, 88, of Winston-Salem, NC, and previously Haddonfield, NJ, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at his home. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Born in Philadelphia, PA on Nov. 17, 1924 to Theodore M. and Helen W. Krier, Ted graduated from Camden High School and entered the Army Air Corp in1943. In 1945, while stationed at Napier Field, in Alabama, Flight Officer Krier married Margaret E. Shaw. Returning to Westmont, NJ they raised five children. A resident of Haddonfield for over 40 years, he retired from his position as an X-ray sales and service technician for Franklin X-ray / Siemens. An avid fisherman and sailor, Krier enjoyed sailing at Lake Garrison, NJ, the Cooper River and later traveled through the Inter-coastal waterway from the Sailing Emporium in Rock Hall, MD to Naples, FL. Ted was a long time member of the Haddonfield United Methodist Church and the American Legion. He is predeceased by his wife and two sons David and Steven. He is survived by two of his sons, James (Ann) Krier and Scott (Kathy) Krier, his daughter Nancy (Charles) Tsakiris, as well as daughter-in-laws Barbara Krier and Mary Krier. His eleven grandchildren Charlie, Jeff, Eric (Ashley) Tsakiris, Amy, Chelsea, Ted, Michael, Christopher, William, Brett and Maggie Sue Krier will also cherish the memory of their grandfather. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor may be made to the American Heart Association. Memorial services will be held at Kain-Murphy Funeral Home in Haddonfield, NJ on Sunday, July 28th at 2 pm. Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel is assisting the family.
