Theodore “Ted” Demetrios Harris, 90, of Winston-Salem, NC, entered into eternal rest on August 25, 2024. Born in Tampa, Florida, on June 20, 1934, he was the son of the late Eleni and Demetrios Theoharis. Ted was a devoted structural engineer, having graduated in 1961 from North Carolina State University, and honorably served his country in the U.S Army during the Korean Conflict. A man of deep faith, he was an active and committed member of the Winston Salem Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. His devotion to his church and his faith played a significant role throughout his life. Ted's infectious laughter, quick wit, and radiant smile will be forever cherished by his loved ones. He is survived by his son, Andrew Harris; daughter, Ashton Harris Rives (Kellan); sister, Christina Gionis (Kerry); his dear companion of over 30 years, Shirley Shouse; grandchildren, William Theodore Rives and Maryann Eleni Rives; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, his lake family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Alice Harris Agapion and Roie Harris Price and his nephew, Jake Magee. An avid supporter of North Carolina State University athletics, Ted was a proud member of the NCSU football team. Ted also enjoyed indulging in good food, sharing the adventures life brought with Shirley, playing tennis, and embracing the joy of days spent at Lake Norman with his grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Fr. Demetri Kangelaris officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park, The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM before the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Winston Salem Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in remembrance of Ted's life and legacy. His presence in our lives was a gift, and he will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him
