Theodore Elgin Ebert, Jr. of Winston-Salem, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at The Brian Center. He was born March 8, 1933 to the late Theodore Elgin Ebert, Sr. and Kate Harrison Ebert. T.E. (or Bubby as he was often called) served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1953-1955. He worked at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company for many years, then later at his brother's business, Ebert Sign Company. On May 25, 1958, he married Mary Ellen Manning. T.E. and Mary Ellen were members of Friedland Moravian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn; and brothers, Stokes, Lawrence, Donald and Roger. He is survived by a daughter, Lynn; grand-dog, Bear; sister, Betty Warner; brothers, Henry Ebert and Tom Ebert (Diane); and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Friedland Moravian Church at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 16 with the Rev. Carol Foltz officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and burial.
