Thelma Vaden Priddy, 89, of Heritage Woods died February 12, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Stokes County August 1, 1919, to James Melvin Vaden and Hessie Stewart Vaden. Mrs. Priddy, a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church for 50 years, was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in Winston-Salem. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Eulas David Priddy; her mother and father; her daughter, JoAnn Priddy Dowell; two brothers, Howard Vaden and Herman Vaden of Westfield; and her only sister, Annie Vaden Robertson of Danbury. She is survived by two daughters, Sue Priddy Coats (Jerry) and Judy Priddy Slater (Alfred); four grandchildren, Mark Dowell (Renee) of Apex, Patricia (Trish) Dowell Harold (Rick) of Ararat, Kevin Casey (Jennifer) of Dothan, Alabama, and Jennifer Coats Linnell (Neil) of Winston-Salem; six great grandchildren, Erick and Ryan Dowell, Summer Leonard (Travis) and Lauren Allen, Tyler Casey and Abbey Linnell; one great-great grandchild, Landon Leonard. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 16 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church with Dr. Judson Milam and The Rev. Dana Fruits officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service.
