Mrs. Thelma Beatrice Moyer, 92, went into the presence of her Lord Jesus on Thursday morning, October 16, 2014. She was born December 6, 1921 the daughter of the late George D. Brewer and Bessie L. Brewer. Thelma was raised in Rural Hall along with her eight brothers and sisters. She met and married her husband of many years, Paul W. Moyer, during the days of WWII. After the war, when Paul returned from the Navy, they spent most of their years happily living in Winston-Salem, where they raised their two children. Wayne has fond memories of growing up during ""golden years of the 1950""s"" with a stay at home mom who never had a driver's license. Thelma sang in the choir and was active in many church activities. Along with her husband Paul, they volunteered many years with Crisis Control until she was no longer physically able to do so. She and Paul loved their church and Crisis Control very much, as they were able to help so many people in so many various ways. In recent years, Thelma, was a member of Jefferson Church of Christ in Rural Hall. Paul passed away ten years ago, but Thelma continued strong in her faith until the day she died. In addition to her parents and her husband, Paul, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda M. Dursin and four sisters, Lillian Shore, Magdaline Stout, Betty Tuttle and Josephine Clifton. Thelma is survived by a sister, Carol Lewis; three brothers, George, Walter and Bruce Brewer and her son, Wayne Moyer and wife Lynn. She is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2014 at Rural Hall Memorial Park in Rural Hall with Walter Brewer, Minister officiating.
