Mrs. Thelma Bell DeHart, 89, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. DeHart was born on April 26, 1925 in Lee County, South Carolina to the late Ollie Leo Bell and Annie Garrett Bell. She was a member of Faith Missionary Alliance Church in both Winston-Salem and Carolina Beach, NC. Thelma enjoyed fishing and trips to the mountains of North Carolina. In addition to her parents, Mrs. DeHart was preceded in death by her grandson, Gerald DeHart, three brothers and two sisters. Mrs. DeHart is survived by her husband, Waymoth ""D.C."" DeHart; three sons, David DeHart (Brenda), Richard ""Ricky"" DeHart (Becky) and Jay DeHart (Peggy); one daughter, Debbie Taylor (Kent); 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; her beloved caregiver, Heather DeHart and her children, Cooper, Emily and Andy. A funeral service to celebrate Thelma's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Kevin L. Kilbreth officiating. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to say a special thank you to the cardiac staff on the 6th floor of Forsyth Medical Center and Hospice for the care they provided to Thelma during her illness. Flowers will be accepted or the family requests memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
