Thelma Minor Brown

Mrs. Thelma Minor Brown, 97, passed away Monday, April 27, 2015 at Universal Health Care in King. She was born in McDowell Co., West Virginia on September 1, 1917 the daughter of the late Charlie Preston Minor and Maggie Fowler Minor. Mrs. Brown was a longtime member of Brown Mountain Baptist Church and was retired from J.P Stevens both in Westfield. In addition to her parents and being the last surviving sibling of her family, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Brown in 1964. Mrs. Brown is survived by a niece, Shelia Johnson and husband Randy of Clemmons and a nephew, Dr. David Minor and wife Peggy of High Point. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel with Dr. David Minor officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery in Westfield with Jeremy Hood officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
