The Rev. Dr. Harold David Cole (Hal) arrived in his Heavenly home on January 28, 2012. Hal was born on February 6, 1937 in Reedy Creek, NC to Fannie Tilley Minor and Jonathan Cole. Following that he served the denomination as an Intentional Interim Pastor in many other Moravian churches. He retired from fulltime service in 2002, after which he worked part time at New Philadephia Moravian Church as Visitation Pastor. He & Joy enjoyed traveling, visiting all 50 states and about 150 lighthouses in the US and Canada. Hal was an avid golfer and sports fan, having played basketball, football and tennis in his younger years. Survivors include his wife Joy, their two daughters, Ruth Burcaw (Chris) of Lewisville, NC and Kathleen Schreiber (Blair) of Newton, NJ and 5 very adored grandchildren, Jessy & Jake Burcaw and Matthew, Jared & Kathryn Schreiber. He is also survived by his stepbrother, Richard Minor (Doris) of Winston-Salem and his brother-in-law, Richard Wheland (Sally) of Pittsburgh, PA. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 4th at 2 pm at Unity Moravian Church. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
