Terry Lee Rausch, SR. , 69, Almost 70 full years ago, April 28, 1952, changed so many lives! The second of 10 children, grandpa of 7, great grandpa of 3, father of 3 and husband of 1 wife, Terry Rausch, Sr. leaves a rich heritage of fun, family, and faith! With an infectious smile and contagious laugh, his corny wit and humor disarmed everyone and opened doors for lasting joy and friendships. After battling dementia for several years, his fight is over, he has completed the race and his faith has been made sight because he trusted Jesus as his Savior in 1978. Besides being a jack of many trades, his primary occupations included restaurant manager and bindery expert in the printing industry. He was also adept as a shade-tree mechanic, model car and ship builder, wood working and craft maker, amateur go-cart racer and little league baseball coach. Terry was a member of First Baptist Church Stanleyville since 1985 where he served as a VBS director, Sunday school teacher, praise team member, chairman of deacons, leader of Fit for the King fitness classes and much more. As a grandpa and PopPop, he adored his grandchildren and lavished them with his love, which spilled over to his great grandchildren as well. Terry is survived by his children; Terry, Jr. (Michelle), Jason (Bethany) and Melissa Proctor (Rick); seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; five brothers and two sisters: Lannus, Jr., Dion, Philip, David, Angela, Douglas and Heather; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Patricia; his parents Lannus, Sr. and Anna; two brothers, Harry and Jeffrey and one beloved nephew, Jeremy. The family will receive friends at 1:30 pm on Sunday, January 23 at First Baptist Church Stanleyville and the funeral will be held at 3:00 pm in the Sanctuary at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Terry was part of the Alzheimer's Disease Clinical Core (ADCC) Study at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wake Forest Baptist to further this study and eradicate this disease. Memorial gifts may be mailed to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, Office of Philanthropy and Alumni Relations, PO Box 571021, Winston-Salem, NC 27157.
