Terry Leon Wooten, Sr.

Mr. Terry Leon Wooten, Sr., ""Pop"", went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on September 5, 1942 to the late Leon Stokes Wooten and Geraldine White Wooten. Terry retired from Arkansas Best Freight. He enjoyed volunteering as a Chaplain at Forsyth Medical Center. Terry was a faithful member of Woodland Baptist Church and the Ambassadors Sunday School Class. He was a past Master of Old Town Masonic Lodge #751 where he was involved with many programs and started the, ""Bikes for Books"" program. Terry was also a member of Orphans Lodge in Oxfor, the York Rite Bodies and Scottish Rite Bodies. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He made a difference in all the lives he touched and will be forever missed by all. Terry is survived by his wife, Billie, a sister; Kathy Lapish (Melvin), daughters; Laura Hughes (Mark) and Melinda Ziegler (Dave) and a son; Terry Wooten (Heather). He is also survived by his grandchildren; Elizabeth and Daniel Hughes; John, Olivia and Jacob Roberts; Michael, Thomas and Rachel Ziegler; Elijah and Hannah Wooten. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2015 at Woodland Baptist Church in Rural Hall the Pastor Tim Gammons and Randy Hillman, Chaplain officiating. Burial with Masonic Rights provided by Old Town Masonic Lodge #751 will follow in Rural Hall Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 prior to the service at Woodland Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Woodland Baptist Church, 1175 Bethania-Rural Hall Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27106 . The family would like to express their appreciation for the loving care provided by Dr. Bruce Brasher, Dr. David Smull, the nurses in 6 North, CICU, CVPP and Advanced Home Care.
