Terry Speaks

Mr. Terry Wayne Speaks, 66, passed away on March 6, 2018, after several years of poor health. Terry was born on May 30, 1951 to Kathleen McCarter Speaks and Jack Speaks in Winston-Salem. He will be remembered as a friendly gentleman with an exceptional talent for landscaping. There was a special place in Terry's heart for his canine companion, a rescue dog named, Della. In addition to his mother, Terry was preceded in death by a son, Brian Speaks. Surviving are his father, Jack Speaks (Dot); son, Christopher Speaks; granddaughter, Amelia Elizabeth Speaks; sisters, Jacqueline Barlow, and Sandra Lynn Speaks; stepbrother, Todd Johnson (Karen); stepsister, Vickey Pitts (Gary); special niece, Angie Freeman (Shawn); and a large extended family. A funeral service will be held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, March 10, 2018 with Rev. Scott Hammett officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
