Terry Wayne Johnson, 64, of Lexington, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born February 21, 1944 in Forsyth County to the late John Lester Johnson and Clara Raper Johnson. Mr. Johnson graduated from Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA and went on to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Konnoak Hills Moravian Church where he served several terms on the Board of Elders. He also served as Sunday school superintendent and sang in the choir. Mr. Johnson was a Realtor with North Davidson Realty and was a member of the Konnoak Hills Lions Club. Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Martha Ellison Johnson; two daughters, Meredith Smith (David) of King and Annie Joyner (Bradley) of Timmonsville, SC; one stepdaughter, Betsy Allred (Val) of Lexington, SC; five grandchildren, Tyler, Ethan, Emma, Ashlyn and Conner; one brother, Rev. James L. Johnson (Edith) of Charlotte and one nephew, Jeffrey Johnson of Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlotte Johnson and a nephew, James H. Johnson. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2009 at Konnoak Hills Moravian Church with Rev. John D. Rights officiating. Burial will follow in God's Acre at Salem. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
