KERNERSVILLE - Mr. Terry Gray Gass, 68, died Monday, January 14, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Terry was born on January 21, 1944 in Forsyth County to the late Roy Fox, Jr. and Juanita Stewart Gass. Terry retired from the Winston-Salem Journal and Sentinel where he was a committed leader of the local Pressman's Union. He was very devoted to his family and shared his kind heart with all that he met. Terry was also very fond of the outdoors, being appreciative of all God's works. Surviving are his wife, Brenda Shull Gass of the home; one son, Jeffrey Gray Gass (wife, Melanie) of Concord; two grandchildren, Samuel 'Sam' Gray Gass and Kelsey Logan Ramsey; one sister, Rita G. Wishon of Satsuma, FL; a special sister-in-law, Glenda Shull Williams of Winston-Salem; special nieces, Karla Stewart Freeman of Bourne MA and Pamela Shull Davis of Kernersville, and a special nephew, Robert L. Stewart of Waxhaw. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Ellis Rouse and Rev. Dave Cash officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8:00 pm Wednesday, January 16, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, 3655 Reed Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27107 or Sedge Garden United Methodist Church, 794 Sedge Garden Road, Kernersville, NC 27284.
