Terry Boone Benton

On December 16, 2014, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Terry Boone Benton, at age 60, went home to be with The Lord. Terry was born on September 6, 1954 in Brooklyn, New York to George and Sarah Benton. Terry was the second child of eleven, and the first son born to George and Sarah Benton. Terry loved nothing more than to be with his family especially in his last days.

Terry Benton proudly served his country in the United States Armed Forces as a Lance Corporal of the United States Marine Corps in 1972, honorably discharged in 1976.

Terry Benton continued his service with the United States Government when he worked for the United States Postal Service for over twenty-five years. Terry was a hardworking man who loved God, his family, and loved to enjoy life. Terry ran and completed many marathons all over the country with the USMC and on his own. Including marathons in Brooklyn, California, and at our Nation's Capital. Terry also successfully completed a fifty mile marathon in under twelve hours.
In May 1983, Terry became a proud father to his first born son Terry Benton Junior. Terry Jr. resides in Virginia and is working for the United States Government at the United States Postal Service.

Terry Benton met his former spouse, Denise Benton, in Brooklyn, New York. From the union of their marriage came two daughters Daniella and Tenese Benton, in 1990 and 1991.

Daniella Benton, the eldest of the two daughters, resides in Virginia and is completing her Masters in Human Resource Counseling with a health and wellness concentration, with plans to continue her education in the medical field.

Tenese Benton, the youngest child, resides in Virginia and is completing her Juris Doctor, with plans to become an attorney.

Terry is survived by his three children Terry Benton Jr., Daniella Benton, and Tenese Benton. His parents George and Sarah Benton. His siblings, Toni Fennell, her husband Glen. Timothy Benton, his wife Linda. Tyrone Benton, his wife Connie. Todd Benton, his wife Shawn. Troy Benton, his wife Dana. Terrain Benton, Tammy Benton, Tonja Benton, Tabitha Benton, and Tryphena Benton. Along with a host of loving Nephews, Nieces, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, extended family and friends.
