WINSTON-SALEM, NC-Mr. T.D. Flack, Jr., 87, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Born to the late Talmage DeWitt Flack, Sr. and Ellen Hollifield Flack in Wadesboro, NC on October 21, 1927, T.D. served in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman before graduation from Mars Hill College and Wake Forest College. He worked in the field of public health in Forsyth County for a number of years. In 1968 he became a department manager and later vice-president of North Carolina Baptist Hospital from which he retired in 1992. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn and Louis Flack. In August, 1952 he married Hazel Watts who survives along with two daughters, Julia Phipps and Amy Weaver (David) both of Raleigh. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Tony Phipps of Greenville, NC and Abby Phipps of Raleigh who were a great joy to him. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Ardmore Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC with Dr. Don Gordon and Rev. Paul Mullen officiating. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. before the service.
