Mr. Talmadge ""T.L."" Lafayette Hodges, age 86 passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Hodges was born in Surry County, June 6, 1930 to James Samuel Hodges and Lucy Anna Parker Hodges. He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from AT&T Communications with 43 plus years of service. In addition to his parents Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Ethel May Hodges and five brothers. T.L. is survived by two daughters; Karen Pitts of Advance and Bonnie (Denvil) Spears of Clemmons. Two sons: Craig Hodges and Terry (Vickie) Hodges both of Winston-Salem. Twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. One sister, Launa Pounds and one brother, A.J. (Juleigh) Hodges of Morganton. Several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The American Legion Post 290 of King will conduct the military burial honors. The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall Friday evening March 24th from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
