Winston Salem - Talmadge ""Tink"" Baker, 76, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born June 12, 1935 in Forsyth Co. to the late Marvin Poindexter Baker and Lula Bell Thomas Baker. Tink was a member of Union Cross Baptist Church. He retired from Amp, Inc. after several years of service. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a long time companion, Barbara Lunsford; brother, Marvin Baker, Jr.; three sisters, Ethel Swaim, Frankie Flynt, and Dot Swaim. Surviving are his two daughters, Deborah Riddle and husband Michael, Diane Williams and husband, Ron; two sons, Carlton Baker, Carmen Baker and wife, Claudia; three grandchildren, Jeremy Williams, Robert Baker and Kelly Baker; three great-grandchildren, Liam Baker, Jacob Baker, and Ayralynn Williams; four sisters, Billie Weavil, Imogene Weavil, Pearl Yountz, and Lucille Motsinger; former wife, Margaret Baker; and many nieces, nephews and friends. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 6:30 pm Friday, July 22, 2011 at Union Cross Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Ashworth, and Rev. Steve Autry officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully suggests a contribution to Hospice and Palliative CareCenter, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston Salem, NC 27103 in memory of Talmadge Baker. Special thanks to Aunt Jean and Aunt Billie for all the loving care you gave to our father through the last several years. You've been a blessing.
