Sylvia Lee Baity Sink

Mrs. Sylvia Lee Baity Sink, 76, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at The Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born on November 14, 1940, to Spencer Lee Baity and Mary Francis Poplin Baity Cromer in Mocksville. Sylvia married Fred Samuel Sink on November 21, 1959, and dedicated herself to her career as an insurance clerk at Baptist Hospital for 45 years. She will be remembered as a strong-willed woman who enjoyed the outdoors, especially her garden. She was talented at knitting and loved her cat, Tiger. More than anything she loved spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her two brothers Tommy and Frank. Surviving are her loving husband of 57 years, Fred Samuel Sink; children, Anita Dollarhite (Thomas), Samuel Sink, John Sink (Gwen); grandchildren, Samantha Dollarhite, Spencer Dollarhite, McKenzie Sink, and Ryan Sink; niece, Theresa Burton; and nephew, Mathew Baity. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
