Sylvia Green Neal

Mrs. Sylvia Green Chadwick Neal, age 89, of Rural Hall, died May 15th. She was born in Gates County to Julian Jasper Green and Elizabeth Doughtie Green on April 6, 1924. She finished Gatesville High School with honors, and was a graduate of East Carolina University with an AB Degree in Mathematics and History, and a Masters Degree in Education. She taught public school 44 years, 22 of which were in Forsyth County, and then worked at Old Salem Restoration for 17 years. She was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church in Rural Hall. Surviving are three children: Sidney L. Chadwick of Winston Salem, James Carl Chadwick of Brisbane, Australia, and Dr. Elizabeth Chadwick of Nottingham, England. Four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. One brother, Jasper Green of New Jersey. A graveside service will be conducted by Rev. Sidney Lanier, of Kingswood United Methodist Church, at Rural Hall Memorial Park on Monday, May 20th at 1:00 pm. The family will be receiving family and friends at Sidney L. Chadwick's home after the Service. The family requests that memorials be donated to Kingswood United Methodist Church Children's Playschool Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 399, Rural Hall, NC 27045.
