Sylvia Norman McGlamery

Mrs. Sylvia Norman McGlamery, age 76 of Winston-Salem passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. McGlamery was born in Forsyth County, August 3, 1935 to Leo Cecil and Ora Ruby Robertson Norman. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Winston-Salem and retired from Royal Cake Company with 29 years of service. Mrs. McGlamery was a very loving, wonderful and kind wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents Mrs. McGlamery was preceded in death by one brother Jerry Lee Norman. Mrs. McGlamery is survived by her husband of 57 years of marriage, John McGlamery of the home. Two daughters: Pam (Skip) Smothers and Beverly (Scott) Holbrook both of Rural Hall and one son, Brian (Brandi) McGlamery also of Rural Hall. Six grandchildren: Justin (Abbie) Smothers, Chase Smothers, Matthew Holbrook, Katie Holbrook, Savannah Hunt, and Marissa Hunt. Three great-grandchildren: Hunter, Eleanor, and Parker Smothers. One sister, Jeannette Edwards of Winston-Salem and two brothers; Lindsey Norman of Pfafftown and Benny Norman of Lewisville. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. McGlamery will be held Wednesday morning, April 11, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Bethany Baptist Church in Winston-Salem by the Rev. Dr. Brad Stamey, Rev. Brian Alverson and Rev. Jim Thompson. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall Tuesday evening April 10th from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
