Sylvia Jean Blevins Hancock peacefully passed away on February 15, 2017 following a short illness at Forsyth Palliative Care Unit. She was born in Forsyth County on February 19, 1939 to the late Howard & Grace F. Blevins of Winston - Salem, NC. Sylvia was baptized at Fork Baptist Church, Mocksville, NC as a teenager along with her cousin. Sylvia retired from Fairchild Industrial Products, of Winston - Salem NC. She enjoyed the beach, summer activities at her relative's country Home as a young girl, shopping, watching NASCAR with her husband and Speedy's BBQ. Sylvia is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Donnie R. Hancock, Sr. of the home; her son Jeff H. Blevins (Kim) of Davidson County; Step-son Donnie R. Hancock Jr. (Vicki) of Stokesdale; Step-daughter Bonnie Sue Hancock ""Susie"" of Winston - Salem; Aunts, Francis Shuler and Francis Rentz; Cousins, Joann Shuler, Judy Brown, Wayne, Barry and Pat Rentz all of Advance, NC. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday February 18, 2017 at Parklawn Memorial Park with Wayne Rentz officiating The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, February 17, 2017at Hayworth Miller Silas Creek Chapel, 3315 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston - Salem, NC.
