Suzanne Davis McKenzie Upson

Mrs. Suzanne Davis McKenzie Upson, 89, of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the Bryan Center in Lexington. She was born April 11, 1922 in Forsyth County to Alex Samuel and Charlotte Bell Robertson Davis. Mrs. Upson was a Member of Salem Baptist Church and retired from Hanes Hosiery with 37 years of service. She was a member of the NC Extension Homemakers, the VFW of Clemmons Lady's Auxiliary and the Winston-Salem Moose Lodge Chapter 1169. Preceding her in death were two husbands, Benjamin Franklin McKenzie and Robert Ralph Upson. She is survived by two sons, Charles F. McKenzie of Winston-Salem and Benjamin Joe McKenzie of Calgary Alberta, Canada; a daughter, Linda Susan McKenzie of Winston-Salem; two grandsons, Ian Alexander and Simon Nicholas McKenzie and two granddaughters, Molly Suzanne and Ana McKenzie. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Dr. Howard Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
