Susan Lockwood

Ms. Susan Ann Lockwood, 74, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, December 1, 2022.  As a single mother she worked hard to provide for her children.  She obtained her bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan College while working full-time for Durham Regional Hospital. Susan accepted Jesus as her Lord and savior and gave her heart and life to Him.  She had a passion for studying the bible and loved to sing in the choir.  Throughout her life she learned to have a strong relationship with Jesus who provided her with strength, peace, and protection. She was a devoted Christian and beloved mother who will be greatly missed.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Lormer “Bud” and Elizabeth “Betty” Lockwood and her brother, Robert “Bobby” Lockwood.

She is survived by her children, Brian Kiesling, Jeffrey (Adrienne) Kiesling, and Christine (Joel) Reel; her grandchildren, Jacob Kiesling, Paige Kiesling, and Andrew Reel; her brother, Thomas (Sharon) Lockwood; along with her nephews and cousins.

There will be no formal services at this time. In lieu of funeral services, we ask that all who wish to participate, make a donation to People’s Baptist Church at 1621 Greenville Blvd SW, Greenville, NC 27834 or the Alzheimer’s Association at P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.  Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
