Susan Brumfield Hendricks

Mrs. Susanlee Hendricks passed away February 14, 2016 at the KBR Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born November 12, 1931, in Mitchell, IN to Clell and Nettie Brumfield. While raising four children, she attended the Northwest Campus of Indiana University, receiving her degree in education and later went on to complete her Master's Degree. Her teaching degree spanned 29 years in Merrillville, IN at Salk Elementary School. After retirement, she and husband Joseph moved to Bloomington, IN where they doted on their Boston Terriers, Emily and Jake. Three years ago they relocated to Winston-Salem, NC to Heritage Woods Independent Living Facility where they enjoyed many good friendships with residents and staff. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Joseph Hendricks. Their four children are Bobette and her husband Michael Hyde, Lynnette and her husband Biff Bradley, Heidi Howard, and Jason Hendricks and life partner Jack Barnes. She has one grandson, Nathan Boles, and a sister, Bobette Grissom and husband Lowell. She was preceded in death by sisters Louanne Richmond and Betsy Jane Doversberger, and a brother, Joshua Brumfield.

A memorial service will be held in Mitchell, IN to be announced at a later date.
