Susan Martin Eldert

Mrs. Susan Martin Eldert (61), of Winston-Salem passed away September 21, 2008, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born on October 21, 1947 in Tazewell County, Illinois, daughter of the late Howard and Hazel Martin. Mrs. Eldert was a member of Pekin Bible Church in Pekin, Illinois. She later became a Watchcare Associate Member at Grace Baptist Temple in Winston-Salem. She was a missionary with Brazil Gospel Fellowship Mission for thirty-eight years, with thirty-six of those years spent on the field in Cear郡, Northeast Brazil. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father Howard Lacock, and brother Howard ""Butch"" Martin. Survivors include her husband David Joseph Eldert; a son Andrew Eldert and wife Edna of Brazil; three daughters Kathleen Johnson and husband Jared, Paulette Winter and husband David both of WS, and Regina Meetze and husband Daniel of Spartanburg, SC; nine grandchildren; a brother Ronnie Martin of Scotland; a sister Patricia Lacock of Illinois; and a step-brother Dwayne Lacock. The Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, September 24 at 10:00 A.M. at Grace Baptist Temple with the Rev. Ed Sears officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Gur, Kernersvile, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers Memorial Gifts may be made to Brazil Gospel Fellowship Mission, P.O. Box 355 Springfield, Ill. 62705, Antioch Bible Institute or the Silver Lake Bible Camp Ministries.
